CUT & LILITH RITA OBERTI
'SWEET MAMA FIX’
(Martin, Carras)
It is with great pleasure that we are introducing you to a new chapter of the CUT Must Die series. This time we had the opportunity to collaborate with a lady who has been fronting one of the bands that - in early 80s Italy - have paved the way for what we are doing today. To put it succinctly, we would not be here if it wasn’t for someone like Lilith Rita Oberti, front woman for the legendary Not Moving (now Not Moving LTD). Lilith is also the mastermind of Lilith & the Sinnersaints and has released and toured as a solo artist too. Madame Oberti herself suggested that we should work together on a cover of the seductively decadent Sweet Mama Fix by late-seventies French/US outfit Larry Martin Factory. So, we convened at the Sonic Temple studio in Parma, under the guidance of grand magister Andrea Rovacchi. Antonio Bacciocchi – drummer for Not Moving and Lilith and The Sinnersaints (and many others) as well and writer, journalist, producer and Italian Modfather – supervisioned the operations and contributed to the recordings too. However, it was only when La Lilith walked into the vocal booth that the magic (or should we say voodoo?) really started to happen...
