This is Trouble/Desire our first - and only - demo tape. It was released in 1997, just one year after we had started playing together. Line-up wise we were a very different band back then: we had three guitarists, a female vocalist, a drummer and - surprise!- a bass player, as demonstrated by the first few seconds of Get Out of My Way. Apart from Ferruccio Quercetti and Carlo Masu, no other member of that line-up is still in the band today. Massimo Mosca from Three Second Kiss masterfully recorded us live in his band's practice room, with a 8-Track cassette machine. We don't remember how much it took us to get this done, but we're talking hours, rather than days. Six out of Trouble/Desire's eight tracks were re-recorded for our debut album, Operation Manitoba, which came out one year later. It's rough but that's how we've always wanted it.

PS: we stole the title and the cover art from a poster for a 1992 film called Simple Men by US independent director Hal Hartley.
